The Subaru Impreza WRC97 was a rally car that competed in the 1997 World Rally Championship (WRC). The driver of the winning car at Sanremo was Colin McRae, a Scottish rally legend who had won the WRC title with Subaru in 1995. The duo beat their rivals Tommi Makinen and Richard Burns by over a minute, securing Subaru's second consecutive manufacturers' championship.
